1. THE DEFINING DECADE

MEG JAY

If you’re a 20-something avoiding any area of adulting...This book is your reality check. Read it before it’s too late. It challenges the millennial reader to become more intentional about career and relationships. Why am I about to turn 26 though?!?! I'm shook!  Order it here.

“Many twentysomethings assume life will come together quickly after thirty, and maybe it will. But it is still going to be a different life. We imagine that if nothing happens in our twenties then everything is still possible in our thirties. We think that by avoiding decisions now, we keep all of our options open for later— but not making choices is a choice all the same.” - Meg Jay

2. THE ROAD TO CHARACTER

DAVID BROOKS

The Road to Character hinges on the concept that our greatest personal successes are the result of resolute selflessness. How can we better the world with the gifts we’ve been given? Included are biographical accounts that are pretty dense but really interesting (St. Augustine, Bayard Rustin, etc.) By the end of the book I thought I was gonna be a born-again nun or something, lol (just kidding!!!). This book was really impactful when I was reevaluating career and gaining clarity on my vocation. Order it here.

“In this method, you don’t ask, What do I want from life? You ask a different set of questions: What does life want from me? What are my circumstances calling me to do? In this scheme of things we don’t create our lives; we are summoned by life.” - David Brooks

3. BATTLEFIELD OF THE MIND

JOYCE MEYER

A remedy for negative self-talk, low self-confidence, anxiety, depressive thoughts...ETC.! This book is clutch. Joyce bluntly addresses enemy-caused chaos in our thought life and our responsibility to do something about it. She provides clear, biblical action steps to combat the lies. It's a great reference book that I revisit as needed. Order it here.

“You cannot have a positive life and a negative mind.” - Joyce Meyer
